It did not take her very long to grow accustomed to being human shaped, with all the odd numbers of fingers on each hand and thoughts enclosed in a very small, empty space. Thinking like a human-shaped thing proved to be a little more difficult, she came to find, with all of its where when why whos --
'Where' turned out to be here, Lore. 'When' was proved irrelevant. 'Why' was eventually discovered to be the reason for which the star was sealed into a clay doll and left to smother in the dulled senses of a lower life form, because she (who?) would have been Zaniah, the over-thrower of Astraea. -- Whew! First piece of 2008 and first finished in.. a very long time. I learned a lot doing this -- the first lesson being that there is such thing as working too much on a picture. Whoops. This is meant to be an illustration for a still-unnamed story of mine about a star that falls from the heavens. Ironically, when I went to look up Zaniah on wikipedia to figure out where she was in the Virgo constellation, there was a message (deleted now, as it was of the tinfoil hat variety) that in 2445, radiation from Zaniah will apparently destroy the world.
